Yes, I also had quite a hard time with the ground floor. However, the bedroom must be in the southwest and the kitchen in the southeast, according to the guidelines from "Vastu"/"Vaastu". But I agree with you that it would make more sense to separate the areas.
Regarding the living room wall, I agree with you, the half-height wall is not very sensible - right at the entrance.
The plot allows a maximum building window of 8.80m x 14.00m - I would have preferred to go a bit wider as well, but the plot had other unbeatable advantages for that.
The terrace is in the basement because it is a hillside plot and because the basement then looks more like a "normal" floor rather than a dark basement. The large bathroom is in the basement because there is no space for a large bathtub (and possibly a sauna) on the ground floor. Also, the ground floor could become a guest room in the future and the parents would move downstairs (but for this, the bedroom would have to be larger and a walk-in closet added).
