Oh, the hallway is larger than the bedrooms or the second largest room in the whole house. Don't know if that is desired/necessary.

That was quick :D
@ypg

That was exactly our idea too, just to turn the garage. We still need to clarify if that’s allowed.

Oh yes, that’s true, it would really be better with the entrance at the front. We need to change that.
One is a bidet, the other behind the shower is the toilet. ;)

The width should be 1.50m and probably there will be a shoe cabinet and a seating area next to the door.
The cloakroom could be by the closed staircase or opposite on the kitchen/utility room wall.
But it’s great that you even notice such small things, really amazing. That an expensive architect doesn’t come up with stuff like that :)

The corner you see there is supposed to provide space for an infrared sauna. Unfortunately, the floor plans are a bit small, sorry.
For the laundry we have a downpipe in the kids’ bathroom leading to the utility room below. What you say about the laundry is absolutely true. Although we don’t even have children yet.

The layout was originally different, but now we’ve decided on a kitchen island and need the space in the kitchen.

@Wastl

The visitor has the option to park outside. The garage arrangement will definitely be changed, we don’t like it at all so far. The driveway from the side street would probably be best.

Of course, one can think differently about the gallery/air space. In itself (I have to admit) it has almost only disadvantages, but it looks so great from the outside that we decided to go for it. We visited a show house, which will be very similar to our house now, and it had exactly such an air space. It gives the whole thing that certain something, the entire house is flooded with light on two floors, and through the fireplace in the middle, we want to distribute the heat throughout the house with a heating stove.
On the other hand, there are of course disadvantages like noise pollution on the upper floor and the heat development caused by the large windows.
You then have to counteract that a bit with blinds or something similar.
There is also the possibility of installing a sliding door between the dining room and the living room to at least keep the noise level down.

With the large hallway, this open room design is emphasized once again.

The toilet and bidet should be planned next to each other.
The bidet is also supposed to replace the wet toilet paper... you know what I mean?? ;)

We also have an air space above the entire living room. However, it is only about 20 sqm and has only a corner window.
My parents also glazed the entire gable, while only the dining area is stretched upwards as a gallery. The rest of the area is just gallery space, often used for a midday nap.

It's probably a waste of living space, but some like it, others think about the costs.
If you can afford it... but the heating degree and cleaning always need to be reconsidered :)

@ypg

oh thanks for the tip. Until now I've only used a bidet for my feet, so it wasn't that important to me :). But it can certainly be used elsewhere.

What experiences have you had with your airspace? Would you build it the same way again or do you regret it?

Our mezzanine is currently being built and the roof will be set on Thursday ;) Because of different architecture than your house, there is only 1 window...

However, we now have about 10 sqm of windows in the bedroom (west side) open up to the gable, and that's nothing! You can't find sleep because of the heat, although the straight parts have shutters. In the gable (relatively flat, about 1 meter high) we have hung fabric in front, yet it still gets too warm. In your case, the heat will spread into the bedrooms. At my parents' place, the arrangement of the gable is different so that the heat does not flow through the upper floor but stays "hanging" on the gallery.
