If that were true, I would still actually be interested in a few details. For example, how the dressing room was furnished (a closet that isn't very deep? Really also on the opposite side?) and how it is used. (More like a walk-in closet? Do you change in there or do you take your clothes with you to the bathroom or something?) And whether there are actually two children and whether the furnishings are as drawn. And what the spatial feeling in the bathroom is like. (The washbasin area is almost a bit separated from the rest) and how everyday life has established itself there (which bathroom is mainly used by whom and for what. Are the children (if present) still small and you’re with them in the main bathroom? Is the space sometimes too tight at the sinks or too close? Or are they bigger? Do they then use the main bathroom or rather the small one in everyday life?)

But I have little hope that there is much behind it and that real answers would ever come.

So it's true that in everyday life you can adapt to a lot and find quirks acceptable. Despite partly unusual floor plans, I hadn't really had big problems in our rented apartments until now. But "everything perfect! Exactly how we wanted it" I don’t buy from anyone. So not only from the original poster but from anyone in general. There are always things where you at least say "I hadn’t thought of that," even if your own conclusion is "but it’s okay that way," especially if you are heavily involved in the planning yourself.

But I probably shouldn’t feed the troll any further.

So basically, summarized: what I would be interested in: how did you imagine the use of the rooms beforehand and how did it actually turn out. (If that corresponds to a real building)

A mezzanine visible from only one side is not even really suitable for that.
