The problem is that in the south you look onto the village street towards the next village (including the farm) and thus hear the traffic a bit. That means the west side is 100 times nicer.
It’s not about the view, it’s about the sunlight entering the interior spaces and the resulting brightness or coziness. I just wrote this in another thread: I wouldn’t overestimate "views": of course, you focus on the great view, but you
don’t just look outside in your free time. During the day you’re at work or busy with your daily tasks in the house, in the evening you watch TV or sit on the terrace in summer... but you also garden or whatever. You don’t build just to "only look outside" in your future.
