Is the neighboring house actually located right on the boundary line, or how does it relate to this outdoor unit on the wall and the pipes? How does the neighbor access that area?
Maybe you should specifically address all the points; I get the feeling that you are trying to defend or justify your design, which is not necessary.
I think the problem is not one corner here or there, but rather the prior necessary decision on how our life in old age can be as comfortable as possible there and what space and items we will no longer need in the new phase of life.
Yes, the neighboring house is directly on the boundary / at the sidewalk. It is already clear that the air conditioning unit has to be removed or relocated... that should not be a problem.
I don’t want to defend anything but merely present the framework conditions regarding the size and footprint of both the house and the garage, because only within these can and want I act.
