Floor in the living area is damp / temporary solution sought

if it penetrates through the floor slab and is already so wet that the carpet is damp, I wouldn't want to live in there. mold?

I can only say something about the mold after I have removed the carpet. However, I already suspect that there is mold under the carpet.

As harsh as it sounds. But unfortunately, you can't really take such nonsense seriously. The only thing left is to find the cause of the damage; and not to wait another 1-2 years.

The building fabric does not get better by "hiding" it.
