Well, maybe I see the builder story a bit differently. I don't think that I can or should only have a say in the "floor plan, wall construction, equipment, and type of technology." We award all trades ourselves, and I want to find out exactly why, for what reason, and what is being done... the same goes for the floor structure. And the fact that there is room for maneuver is also true. The architect made his proposal, and we see whether it fits for us or not... It is well known that 10 craftsmen can have 10 different opinions about something...
By the way, in another forum, I received suggestions for floor structure options and am grateful for that. Now we will continue to evaluate...

Again my tip: Talk to your architect and ask him exactly these questions. Either you will be satisfied (convinced) afterwards, or you will have doubts about his competence. The latter is probably not a good basis for cooperation.

As the construction expert already wrote: As a client, you certainly have meaningful input in many areas, but to be able to have a say on something like the "optimal" (I still don't quite like to say this word) floor structure, you simply lack the overall understanding.

Best regards
