Hi,

we are currently looking for flooring while our shell construction is growing daily. After a long back and forth, we have our eye on vinyl HDF boards including cork impact sound insulation, e.g. Parador Basic Series for around 30 €/m2. We want to install it floating ourselves, the floor should cost no more than 40 €/m2 all included. This is intended for the bedroom/kids' room and study as well as the hobby room in the basement.

Does anyone have experience with this type of flooring installed floating? What can you say about this supplier Parador? Are there good alternatives and does the screed need to be prepared?

Thanks

Hi,

We installed vinyl from vinylan with the same structure floating throughout the entire house, except in the bathrooms. We did not pre-treat the screed, only removed the dirt from the construction site.

We have only been living properly in the house for 2 months, so we can say little ourselves so far.
We like the floor and it is low-maintenance. Due to the choice of color, you don’t see every crumb (because of the children).

Ok, and do you have underfloor heating? Or have you already noticed a difference in heating compared to, for example, tile coverings?

Yes, underfloor heating.

The vinyl is not excessively warm, but pleasant to walk on without socks and the room temperature as well.
Tiles are warmer when we raise the underfloor heating in the bathroom.

When the vinyl is really warm, then we have a sauna, we had that briefly in January, as the heating was not yet properly set.

One more question about the flooring: Does it still need additional impact sound insulation (Parador Basic 30)? Actually, it has an integrated one, but now a hardware store employee and a consultant from a mail order company have unsettled me. The first said you definitely need impact sound insulation, the second recommends it, and Parador says you actually don't need it, but you can.

Does anyone have experience or reliable recommendations? Is the floor noisy without additional impact sound insulation?

The cork underlayment is your impact sound insulation. You only need a thin foil under the vinyl. We also have the Parador and are satisfied.
