Finally! A world mystery is solved. I never understood why women hang a handbag as a handicap in the crook of their elbow. I don’t find it either beautiful or practical and would never do it myself. However, I would like to have the large pockets that are standard in men’s pants and have to be sewn in by women themselves or an alternative has to be found — but certainly not by means of a handicap. :rolleyes:

I fear enormous costs will be coming to our healthcare system when all these resulting posture-related damages eventually need to be treated. The "bent handbag arm" might eventually even replace tennis elbow or the classic beer belly as a widespread ailment. oh well, society just keeps evolving......

True. I used to drive a VW Beetle, now I already need a Hummer with all the demanding requirements of my current life. I understand and congratulate you at the same time for how you apparently also convince your husband of all these necessities until he might someday carry (y)our handbag himself; but hopefully then also in the classic way of carrying it.

I thought of that too. There are various providers that can be found in search engines under "custom mirror cabinet with sloping roof." Qualitatively, I have no idea what they do.

I would probably take a hybrid approach and build a suitable shelf, in front of which either a door with concealed hinges from the kitchen sector (or a sliding mechanism or a piano hinge for very thin doors) is installed. I would then glue a mirror onto the door. Interior lighting with LED strips, exterior lighting separately.

As an argument against a mirror cabinet and for alternative shelves as suggested by , I would mention the organization of utensils in the theater area. No one there has a mirror cabinet because when you take something out, the mirror is gone. Professionals find that impractical, so they make sure the utensils are easily accessible without the mirror disappearing immediately. And doesn’t your wife deserve the most ergonomic and professional solution?

I also never understood why so many women bring a man as a handicap into their lives. They are just strange. I, for one, prefer a woman as a life partner...

I usually prefer the practical shoulder bag/backpack or none at all. I'm too old for the bent arm. Since I'm in the village, the car is never far, where the big bag is.
