This is how we did it - an element without posts measuring 2.50x2.42m, which just looks cool

My parents also have 2 window units that size in their house, and apart from looking good, they have proven themselves well over the past 30+ years. In addition, the insulation value of the panes is usually better than that of the frame.

The different frame widths didn't bother me at all.

So if the opening is rather secondary, I would always tend towards fixed glazing...the visual difference is only minimal...

We have three each of fixed and tilt/turn windows alternating. The distance between them is 1.30m each and the wall opening is 1.10m. It looks good and doesn’t stand out at all.
