The topic of cleanliness shortly before moving in is causing me headaches in several places. Now the delicate question is how to clean the window panes, after they have been exposed to construction dust, paint splatters, etc. for months, without damaging them.

It concerns both inside and outside. We mostly have laminated safety glass [VSG], two panes are also tempered safety glass [ESG], so especially delicate.

Is there a best practice for the first cleaning of the glass inside and outside? Of course, the parquet floor is already installed inside and the walls are freshly painted. So making a mess is taboo.

I did it myself. Unfortunately, the cleaning companies tend to cause more damage... Wash with a lot of liquid. I recommend Buzil windowmaster. Remove stubborn dirt with a glass scraper. Then wash again. Place old towels inside to catch the liquid. In case of a lot of dirt or post-construction cleaning of the windows, it only works with a lot of liquid. Otherwise, scratches and a poor result are inevitable.

GU had hired a cleaning company. They used a lot of water with dish soap and Cerfeld cleaner.

As is often the case with sensitive topics in one's own area. Do it yourself with the usual methods; eventually you find the right approach. Sometimes other people cannot handle nice things appropriately - therefore do it yourself.

I was hoping for a bit of an answer from you. My concern is also that cleaning companies leave scratches everywhere...

Can you describe your procedure a bit more precisely? So first with clear water and what kind of cloths (microfiber?)? Then Buzil Windowmaster - inside and outside? What other equipment can you recommend regarding cloths, sponges, squeegees, etc.? Regarding the glass scraper, I'm a bit scared; in which step did you use it and did you use it only partially or across the entire surface?

Thanks!

Wet nicely with plenty of cleaning solution (Buzil Windowmaster + warm water) using a washer. Let it soak. Then pull off with a good squeegee.
For example, check out Unger. Best with rubber edges. Prevents scratches.
When squeegeeing, you will see the spots where stubborn dirt sits. Wet these spots again (piece by piece) and clean with the glass scraper (also from Unger). After scraping a few times, clean/wipe the scraper with a clean cloth. This way there are no impurities on it that could scratch. I had doubts at first too, but it’s no problem. You can feel unevenness/dirt with your fingers. Depending on that, you have to work partially or more extensively.
Then, wash generously and squeegee again. Now also dry the corners, profiles, etc.
I bought cheap microfiber cloths in bulk from a professional cleaning shop online.
You can also remove lighter dirt with them. Always work with two cloths.
For small things and generally as a glass cleaner, I can recommend "Glasfee". I have tried many glass cleaners (car care) and Glasfee beats them all.
Even the Swiss window builders were enthusiastic and have now switched to it ;) It is also available in 10l canisters. It has become our general secret weapon.
As always, it is important to use clean cloths.
The initial cleaning is quite laborious, but the more precise you work, the easier the maintenance cleaning will be afterwards.
Here I use several things. Mostly Glasfee inside. Outside, if it’s only individual panes, with washing and squeegeeing. In spring, when I want to clean all windows, partly the facade and gates, I will use my reverse osmosis system.
