So with you, also favored by the work situation. Many families don’t have this luxury.

I have to say, we also have a grandpa-grandma day. On that day, he is picked up much earlier. I think it still fits with us. I find it better this way, know many cases where the man is always working. At the playground, I then always see only the mothers. The fathers more rarely or not at all.

I still don't understand, if it doesn't have to be for financial reasons. Completely irrelevant whether it's common or not.

Both of my parents also always worked full-time. It personally didn't harm me. There are also women who want to have a career.

How many hours do you work, if I may ask?

Your wife works from home all day because you; as far as I understand; want to buy the property next door. So with you it is not because of work that the child spends 9 hours in the daycare, but your wish.

But we shouldn't get tangled up in accusations now. It doesn't make sense. Attitudes are different, just like parents’ guarantees when you want to build a house :-)

It’s not that I think you’re harming your child (although studies on children under two years old suggest otherwise, but that’s not what I want to get at), I just fundamentally don’t understand why I would have a child if I already know that I will only see them for three hours a day. Especially the time when they are so small and developing, learning, curious, becoming little personalities – I wouldn’t trade that for any career in the world. Nine hours is really, really a lot.
I’m currently working eight hours, my little one will soon be two. From autumn, I will probably increase to 16 hours. I don’t want to work more than that as long as she is not in kindergarten. We have planned our house and the financing so that this is easily possible.

My wife wants to improve in her job. That requires full-time work because otherwise she can't manage her job. I personally work full-time because I want to be debt-free as soon as possible. When he starts school, I will be almost debt-free. Then I can go part-time.
