I don't understand the intention of the response. Of course there are cheaper plots somewhere in the East or in Laos, but that doesn't help us as a family. What do I want with 3000 sqm in a place where I don't want to be and have no connection to? We simply have our main place of life here, and that means we have to adapt to the local conditions. Whether your crystal ball is right and the approach was better, we probably won't know for a few years. For future visitors: The gold price is currently at 2,415.11 EUR. :-)

@MachSelbst: Thanks for the point, absolutely correct. Fortunately, it's a bit different in a large corporation, it's already handled by HR and the works council, and I am currently in the training series beforehand, which lasts one year, to optimally prepare employees for leadership positions. So not quite as bad, but the timing is still uncertain and definitely a risk that we have assessed for ourselves.

The Dax is at 19,430 points this morning at its all-time high. Would you still buy Dax stocks today or wait a few more weeks to see a pullback.

In my opinion, the chance that the Dax will continue to rise without a pullback is significantly lower than the chance of falling 2,000 points at some point.

And it is the same with property prices in the metropolitan regions.

And again about gold, although I have mentioned it here several times. Yes, I am a friend of gold.
Real estate prices calculated in gold have already crashed.

I get a house for 200 ounces. In the past, that was around 1,000 ounces. Additionally, high earners here currently earn 2 ounces net. Twenty years ago, every fool earned 4-5 ounces. High earners then earned 10-15 ounces.

I would simply be interested in which region you are looking for what.

The bank does not have to accept a termination without cause and probably will not. The only accepted reason is actually a sale, and then a prepayment penalty applies. Not paying and hoping for termination by the bank is an even worse alternative.

Short update, we have now decided on financing with 3.7% and an interest rate fixed for 1.5 years. This currently fits our considerations and next year we will start looking for a good architect and will also look at a few house parks there, just as recommended here.

Can you provide some details about the financing? I previously thought that with less than 5 years commitment, it is difficult to get a "good" interest rate.

The inverted yield curve is now almost over. The refinancing of banks for, for example, 2 years is again at a level significantly below the costs for 10 years. In this respect, the short maturities are again priced "normally".
