Well, it doesn't matter now. One calls it rewarding. … Everyone has to decide for themselves, and just because things are being spoken frankly here, I do not expect TEs to follow the advice or later admit that with new knowledge they might have done something differently. Everyone has to gain experience on their own.

Small children, small costs, big children, big costs. This is often underestimated, people believe children will always be as undemanding as they are at 3 years old...

Just imagining what 3 boys eat when they all do competitive sports. My boss has 3 of those, he always talks about them... They empty a fully stocked SidebySide fridge in 2 days...

Anyone who does not factor in the outdoor areas (including garden shed, carport, etc.) does not belong to the group of disciplined savers. It is already foreseeable beforehand that this will cost something and one cannot save. Garden tools, lawnmowers, garden furniture, etc. are among the things that certainly consume money in the first few years. I am noticing that myself right now... somehow last year's income just evaporated. That's why my urgent recommendation is to raise the installment from the very beginning. Then the question of whether to invest the money now in a new patio table simply does not arise.

That is always very individual. We currently live in a terraced house with our own garden and already have all the garden tools in the shed, including equipment for a terrace. So no new purchases are planned here in the foreseeable future.

So? The outdoor facilities are calculated at €10,000 in own labor. I'll leave it at that. The original poster can read for themselves... for themselves, they also reduce the list again to just existing garden tools. Maybe the shed from the terraced house will come along too? ;)

Why not, the cabin doesn’t have to grow linearly with the plot size
