I find your posts first-class. They show a sense of reality, modesty, and a connection to home and family. I couldn’t have expressed it better myself. Your view on family and the associated entitlement to space even after the children have moved out is unfortunately no longer en vogue these days, and people prefer to complain about greedy retirees with lots of space.

Regarding the OP, I really don’t have much to say. Those who don’t want to work, who prefer to invest their time and money in a social community (whatever that may be) rather than in the house for their own flesh and blood, basically have no business here in the liquidity forum. You could easily afford a house with moderate employment of your wife included, decent children’s rooms, bike storage, and a home office space. Those who are not willing to provide that really shouldn’t complain or even calculate. A self-made problem does not require advice, but an “ass-chef mentality.”

Something positive first:

Me too, although for different reasons than . They make you think and speak a down-to-earth language.

But:
1.

That is a troll answer. If it’s about the square meters for the room, then please keep it factual.

2.

Together with the cleaning lady and the kitchen, unfortunately this comment leads me to turn off the notifications for the thread. I am not offended, I can also handle a sharp tone well, but ... well, how should I say ... it does annoy me that our liquidity is not discussed sensibly, but that a certain way of life is being imposed on us.

I’ll check back in a few weeks and look forward to meaningful answers that arrive in the meantime. Maybe by then I will also feel like reporting on our search again according to the advice of .

Where do you please see a kitchen? Please do not read more into the posts and remain factual!

For factual clarification:

In your list, the kitchen is missing. Now, living-dining may conceptually include a kitchen for you, but you still have to note that a living room for common activities with five or more people (guests) should have at least about 15 sqm to have enough space for playing and TV together. A dining table with 2 meters length and space for seating units takes up around 16 sqm with walking paths, and the mentioned 35 sqm are already used. I consider a functional kitchen for 5 people to be about 12 sqm upwards. That is simply missing.

I probably let myself be influenced a bit by the perceived atmosphere of the thread. I am sincerely sorry about that!, especially since I myself wish for exactly this objectivity. And I really did not include the kitchen. I apologize!

I understand. I have heard that a few times already. But there are also many families (just not the ones building) who manage with 8 sqm kitchens. Games are played at the kitchen table, and a small cozy corner with a sofa and armchair can also be used for the whole family plus two guests by turning dining chairs around. The only big requirement is the family dining table. I do not want to say that I am certain 35 sqm is enough. But at first, I see a phenomenon of "this is absolutely necessary," although it is not necessarily needed.

Of course, priorities can also be set differently in the house, and the roughly 140 sqm can be distributed differently. If then living, dining, and kitchen are larger and something else smaller, that would certainly fit with our idea of family and guests. But I do not yet see how that should work. We are looking at some turnkey houses and their associated prices.

[So, now the tab will be closed.]

I still do not understand where the 600€ donations are going. Jehovah's Witnesses or another sect? Aren't decent children's rooms worth that to you?
