Hello, my name is Aurelio. Next year, my wife and I will fulfill our dream of a newly built house. We have lived for the last 10 years in an older house with an extension of nearly 250 sqm. Now a modern new building with about 160-180 sqm is to be built. Our children no longer live with us, so it’s just the two of us. A guest room is to be combined with my office.
Here are the facts

House design
Who created the plan:
- Planner of a construction company no
- Architect yes
- Do-it-yourself no
What do you particularly like? Why? The extension with flat roof and the unusual architecture.
What do you not like? Why? A bit too big? We don’t need so much space in the living and bedrooms.
Price estimate according to architect/planner: still unknown.
Personal price limit for the house, including equipment: 500,000
Preferred heating technology: if feasible, geothermal collectors from Freisolar
If you have to give up, on which details/extensions
- can you give up: somewhat less sqm
- can you not give up: double garage
Why did the design become what it is now? Because of the plot boundary and the resulting space. This also explains the angled shapes.
Standard design from the planner? No
Which wishes were implemented by the architect? Bathroom as stated and accessible hallway.
What do you think makes it particularly good or bad? I would like to hear your opinions on this.
What is the most important/fundamental question about the floor plan summarized in 130 characters?
How do you find the design in relation to the available plot? We are basically very satisfied but are happy to hear other opinions.
