Sounds good, by the way with a Hansgrohe PuraVida electronic faucet you might also have been quite well advised when it comes to sensors

For the ground floor WC, I will consider the side-mounted fixture.

I'm not Neige though ...

I once had such a board in the old house and first stained it dark and then sealed it with boat varnish. Glossy, of course. I didn't have to do anything else to the board - it looked very elegant with a chrome built-in sink.

I would like the look of an oiled surface. I was told to use a matte finish. It looks the same, and I would have no problems then.

You can also oil. For this, I would recommend a good parquet oil. However, it comes with slightly more maintenance effort. If you get into the habit of wiping off moisture promptly, it will hold up well.
