You feel like you're at a campsite with the toilet. Totally unnecessary. You don't really believe that you'll go take a dump there while your child is brushing their teeth or vice versa.

Kind of like, if I close my eyes really tight, no one will see me :-p

Spare me the wall.

I hope it can be seen reasonably well. Basically, I imagine the toilet/shower situation as shown in the photo. Only that we will forgo the sauna and install a steam shower/bath instead. For more privacy, the covering on the toilet side should be more opaque, not like in the photo! I am considering a mini sink in the toilet - good point! - I hadn’t thought about the door handle. Otherwise - I now also have a countertop sink and am doing well with it. The window in the toilet area is a must because of the exterior view. Floor-to-ceiling windows - personally, I like those very much. The separate toilet is definitely coming... I am specifically asking about the layout of the other built-in parts (sink, bathtub, cabinets). Between the toilet and shower, a towel storage cabinet is to be installed. This way, they are within reach.

why put the toilet behind a door at all, let alone just a thin glass door? Who would sit on the toilet there if someone else is still in the room?

Best regards

Hello Sabine,

[*]we do not want the odors throughout the entire bathroom.
[*]Water from the toilet does not spread throughout the entire bathroom - keyword evaporation, splashing when flushing, etc.
    [*]it creates privacy

These are our arguments, everyone sees it differently and has different demands, these are ours!

So a toilet like that wouldn’t be my thing either..

But apart from that: personally, I would swap the sink and the bathtub. Then you can possibly enjoy the nice view from the bathtub. And I would make the bathroom smaller, I think there are some wasted square meters.

Why don’t you simply separate the WC from the bathroom? Like a completely independent room, accessible with its own door from the hallway? It would also have the advantage that you could be undisturbed in the bathroom during certain simultaneous usages.

Regarding the smell of the toilet: Have you planned a ventilation system? There are Geberit flush tanks with odor extraction. You can connect them to the exhaust air of the ventilation system. We have installed this in our place and are absolutely thrilled with it. When someone does their business, you can enter the toilet immediately afterward and smell absolutely nothing.

Regarding evaporation of toilet water: Seriously? Even if a milliliter evaporates, so what? I really don’t understand that at all.... ^^
