Since 2022 we have been living in our single-family house. I regret every day not having partially clad the house with facing bricks or veneer. At some point, the budget was simply exhausted. But I find it infinitely beautiful when, for example, the lower part is clad with bricks and the upper part is plastered. Our house was built with Poroton bricks (Eder XP 9). Afterwards, a base plaster, reinforcement, and a colored plaster were applied.
Could one now, for example, stick veneer/clinker bricks up to the floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor, preferably in gray?
What would need to be considered?
Do you need a finishing profile, or is silicone or something similar applied between the veneer and plaster to prevent water from seeping behind?
How would it behave at the base or at the transition from plaster to base?
The plaster protrudes about 1 cm in relation to the base. A colored stone plaster is applied here.
At the back of the house, I would extend the pergola like an upside-down U, as the posts only have about 1 cm distance from the plaster, and I can no longer get behind them.
So, wishful thinking or a crazy idea?
