Actually, the most important appointment is the foundation slab. If that is wrong and the shell construction is on top, then you can't do anything anymore and you're stuck with the crap.

I got a construction expert (retiree) from the neighborhood. He had also looked at the building during the shell construction phase after the roof covering. Then he gave us some written recommendations and discussed some things directly at the house with us. It went very well. We also had a good site manager with whom we could discuss many things. You have heard otherwise before.

He looked at the foundation slab, we were on vacation then.

Therefore, for us the first appointment with him, although his 2nd visit to our construction site :)

We have found an expert for the construction of our semi-detached house who inspects the build for around ~3500€ and is not tied to a fixed number of appointments, but rather drops by from time to time (in addition to important appointments like the foundation slab, windows, screed, etc.) and, which is extremely important for us, takes care of the direct communication with the craftsmen/construction company. We more or less persuaded our semi-detached house neighbors to also "take part," hence the seemingly low overall price. So far, they are very grateful to us for that. I have already been on site 1-2 times at the same time as the gentleman, and it was sometimes a bit embarrassing to see how he scolded the craftsmen and asked for prompt repairs. Since we have no expertise at all, we would never have noticed anything. So far, definitely the best investment of the building project, the construction expert.

I would first (in private) reprimand the expert. A good construction supervisor speaks kindly to the workers and earns their respect by "demonstrating" the correct execution.

It was not about him doing it unfriendly, but determined. I felt "embarrassed" because I stood next to him like a little child without saying anything. However, the comments all seemed to make sense, as the executing craftsmen grumbled and admitted that corrections were necessary here and there.

I will not take the audacity to reprimand him on how, in my opinion, he should work.
