Experiences prefab house construction length and sound insulation

Good morning,

we are currently building with a prefabricated house manufacturer (timber frame construction).

We signed last year in March 2019, earthworks + basement construction began in November 2019, house assembly in December 2019, and moving in is planned for April 2020. Without the own contributions we made, moving in would probably have even been possible as early as March 2020.

Solid construction would have had longer lead times for us, since here in Bavaria the "good" solid builders are much more booked up. However, we also did not choose a large prefabricated house manufacturer, but picked one that only builds in southern Germany. Just because of the lead times, Fingerhaus would have been ruled out for us, for example (current waiting time approx. 21 months according to the seller). Here one could actually realize a solid construction as well.

We are advised against prefabricated houses because the house is supposedly too noisy

It is supposed to be a multi-family house. So with 5-6 apartments/neighbors.

A lot was built with [...], but with architects. To whom I would urgently recommend in any case for multi-family housing construction.

A civil engineer from a construction company is drawing up the plans for us free of charge.
