It was not about chrome as such but the installer referred to the brushed matte finish.

If you say that is nonsense, the decision would be clear for us and we would choose matte instead of glossy.

Basically, I agree with him, but what I see in pictures doesn't look so dramatically rough to me. I would probably give it a try.

Ok. So there are no significant technical differences that justify these funny prices.

I don't want to argue about design... It's all a matter of taste. I was only concerned about the technical... But apparently, it's all a mess. (Assuming that the [Cartouche] is then made of ceramic and correspondingly durable...)

May I dig up this very old thread and ask how you decided? We are currently facing the same question and do not know whether to go for Grohe matte brushed or chrome. We naively thought that matte would be easier to maintain / you wouldn’t see everything on it.
