Regarding the retaining wall: It will be placed at the boundary to the street and will be between 1.5m and 2m high over a length (including possibly support for the driveway) of about 25m. The plain L-shaped stones should definitely cost under 10,000 euros. However, a layer of gabions made of porphyry is still needed in front of that (or instead of the L-shaped stones, thick granite blocks can be used directly, which would also be allowed). And as I said, we actually don’t need a garage or carport. Thanks again for the assessment!
If the soil can be reused, then the basement excavation would be more than enough to fill the area behind the retaining wall. However, I don’t know whether the excavation material can be used for that or if soil needs to be exchanged. So there could still be hidden costs here.
Speaking of construction method: I had written: "brick or cross-laminated timber" (e.g., Holz100). Your estimate presumably assumed brick, right? Cross-laminated timber will probably be more expensive.
