Enlarge dormer window downwards?

Hi there!

I looked at a house, built in 1956, solid construction, windows from around 1980. The house has a dormer on the front with "strangely" placed windows. They are quite wide but sit too high and are overall too low. As a person who is 1.65m tall, I can hardly look out of the window on the upper floor. Would it basically be possible to enlarge the windows in this dormer downwards, or is there anything about the dormer that would argue against this?

I have no idea what type of dormer this is; I hope the pros can make something out of my attached pictures. The ceiling height should be about 2.20-2.30m, which shows that the windows sit quite high.

If it is not possible to "lower" the windows, that would be a very negative point for me, which might negatively influence my buying decision.

EDIT: the "normal" window height would probably be exactly at the small ledge you can (hopefully) see between the radiator and the window.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and help :)
Best regards, Nicole

This is your second thread, and in your first thread the respondents did not receive any feedback (?)

It seems to me that it is not a dormer at all, but a cross-gable: it looks as if the exterior wall is simply extended upwards, and this is merely visually disguised by a row of roof tiles. Presumably this is the intent of the development plan and this would stand in the way of any modification.

You're right, that was probably very rude of me. o_O The house that the thread was about was sold to someone else relatively soon after my thread. That frustrated me so much that I repressed everything related to it. I'm really sorry, it won’t happen again!

I had to Google what a cross-gable is first. Of course, it would also be possible, that would - at least technically feasible - mean that it wouldn’t be a problem to extend the window, right? Provided the building authority gives their okay, but you can ask about that. The house right next door is built the same way, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t remember how the windows there were executed.

Uh, I did not ask for company recommendations or about the quality of non-German companies?
