Hello everyone.
We are new here, and the reason is not a pleasant one. I would like to continue working on my outdoor facilities, but to my annoyance I have to struggle around here on the internet.
We have been living in a low-energy prefabricated house for a year now. The Vitocal 200 heating system has already had several failures, and the customer service utterly failed to impress. (we expect more from our trainees) But that is another matter.
From the very beginning, I had the impression that the air heat pump consumes a relatively large amount of energy. This was repeatedly denied, and I was referred to the year-end statement from my energy supplier. Now I checked the meter, and I almost fainted: 5500 kWh just for operating electricity in a year!
Before the "relative explanations" that I am used to from the manufacturer start coming, some information about us:
We live in the Southwest Palatinate (together with Mainau the warmest area in Germany)
We are both employed, only occupy the house in the evenings, only one person showers
Set temperature is 20°C
Blower door test was passed very well
The house is aired out 3-4 times daily by shock ventilation, otherwise the windows are closed
The prefabricated house provider advertises this house with heating costs of 36€ per month, which is about 2080 kWh annually according to the EON rate.
The calculation basis is 22°C in the living room and bathroom, 20°C in the kitchen and children's room, 18°C in the bedroom and other rooms
We have 20°C in the living room and bathroom; heating in the children's, bedroom, and adjacent rooms is turned off. The doors upstairs are mostly closed.
We think that with these settings we belong rather to the energy savers; therefore, I am surprised by our energy consumption despite the harsh winter.
As a solution, a service technician offered us to lower the set temperature even further! He did not say this jokingly.
Since the provider does not take our complaints seriously and responds only late or not at all, we are now looking for support here.
Who else lives in a comparable prefabricated house? What energy consumption do they have? Please post! I need comparison figures in order to assert myself against my provider.
If you have neighbors who live in such a house, please talk to them and share their consumption data here.
Thank you in advance for the replies
