Hello.

My electricity consumption for my heat pump seems quite high to me. I have already checked various contacts. Architect, heating engineer, energy consultant, structural engineering office, but I can’t shake the feeling that none of them really know much more or less.

I can give you some basic data, I know it’s difficult to make a general statement here. But there should be at least an approximate benchmark.

So, first of all about the electricity consumption itself. Last year it was 10,000 kWh electricity for heating and hot water. The years before that 7-9 thousand.

- Our house has heated living space. 180m² living area

- We live at 900 meters altitude (it’s already quite a cold spot although last winter wasn’t as cold as previous years)

- We have an air-to-water heat pump from Weißhaupt specified with 9 kWh.
Underfloor heating throughout the entire house.
In the bathroom there are two additional infrared heaters because the floor area was not sufficient. They run for about 1 hour per day in winter. 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes in the evening.

6-person household.

The energy certificate states

Final energy demand 33 kWh
Primary energy demand 70 kWh

where the usable floor area of the building is given as 222m².

I don’t know what other information is required. Otherwise, just ask.
The electricity consumption just seems way too high to me.

That is 200 euros per month for electricity just for heating. Phew. That doesn't add up. Check if the heating element is active, you can read it off the device. I almost suspect that this is the reason.

You should need about half.

Hi. Yes, to be exact, our advance payment has now been increased from €218 to €228. Every year I bring up the issue again and have been told from time to time that it is normal. Most recently by the local energy advisor. No, heating rods are not active.

What temperatures do you have in the house in winter?
How is the heating curve set?

We have set 21 to 22 degrees. The heating curve I do not know. No idea how it is set or how to read it.

So we are 2 residential units with a total of 220 sqm and consume about 5500-6000 and have already had harsh winters. We also have hot water collectors on the roof. In our apartment, basically only 40 sqm living room + bathrooms are heated. The rest stays cool for sleeping.
