If you don't have any special requirements for the network and aren't doing anything time-critical, WLAN will be enough. It wouldn't be for me. Everything I have lying around is connected via LAN and thus relieves my WLAN again. You usually can't fully utilize the performance of fast internet connections over WLAN either. Often, even a wall is already a death sentence for fast data transmission.

I personally also consider myself part of the "prefer cables" faction and have corresponding requirements. But when I look around, many friends and acquaintances are actually quite undemanding. The main thing is Wi-Fi everywhere, and the throughput that results from it really doesn’t matter. Instagram has to run somewhat smoothly and Spotify should also work without interruptions – everything else totally doesn’t matter.
