As written: buy a search device. The cable comes from the wall where the switch is. If the electrician has done everything correctly, he will lay it only at a right angle and straight. So not diagonally from the switch position to the ignition point.

Is it actually safer to drill with a drill machine via a power outlet (same circuit) instead of using a cordless screwdriver (in case you drill into an electrical cable)?

Um, safer is fuse off, check if off and secure against reactivation...

Hopefully, everyone understands that the power must be turned off beforehand

I have never turned off the power before drilling. At least not when drilling into walls. However, I would do it for a lamp.

Hi,
what should change with the corded drill?
The cable doesn’t care whether it’s being pierced by a battery-powered or corded drill.
If you cause a short circuit, the fuse blows, the drill stops – but the cable is still damaged!
If you hit the neutral and/or the ground conductor, nothing happens.
If you just scratch a live wire, it could become dangerous, not while drilling but later when you screw something in; it and the attached component could be live.
The annoying thing is: at first you don’t notice anything, no fuse blows, everything works normally.
Not nice if you use it to screw in, for example, a bathtub grab bar or something like that.
That’s why RCDs should always be installed.
Cheers Olli
