Hello,

I am planning to purchase a 2-seater sofa Ektorp in the near future. Now I still have 2 questions bothering me.

Which cover should I choose. I would prefer Svanby Brown. Unfortunately, Idemo Beige is no longer available; alternatively, there is Idemo Black and the whole sofa would thus be 80€ cheaper, but is it worth it? Over time, the 80€ balance out. Besides, a black sofa makes the room overall relatively dark. My other furniture is birch veneer or white!

Also, I have a Golf V, does the sofa fit in there or do I have to have it delivered?

Hi!

Packaging dimensions and weight
Item number 001.850.32

Width 87 cm
Height 40 cm
Length 200 cm
Weight 56.2 kg

So I barely managed to transport the Ektorp armchair in my 3-door Golf with the back seat folded down. And that was just the armchair

Better measure your car very carefully based on the information given above.....

I had foolishly misread and thought the large box was 56x40x200 and thought it could be stored to the right of the driver's seat. But it was actually 87 cm, so the package stuck out halfway at the back. Had to quickly buy straps at Ikea, luckily IKEA had them in stock, and then 15 km home! I ended up taking Svanby Brown after all!

So far, I am thrilled with the seating comfort!

If necessary, you can also unpack the Ektorp and leave the cardboard at IKEA. I don't know how the Ektorp is screwed together; the predecessor Ekeskog can be assembled in relatively handy and light individual parts (e.g. the backrests and middle part are two parts, which reduces the total length by more than half a meter), and in the end, the cover is simply put over it and the seat or back cushions placed on top. Maybe it is the same with the Ektorp, then you need much less space than you think... Write an email to IKEA and ask how big the individual parts are if the Ektorp is available in individual parts. If you can't find your cover at IKEA, there are now a whole number of other suppliers who make covers for IKEA furniture. The biggest is *gelöscht* - in Germany, there are some at *gelöscht*.
