Good morning,

we want to have a fence built for our property (Brandenburg) soon. On the internet, we find various sites with very different prices/materials. Since we are absolute construction novices, I would like to take the opportunity to ask you for tips and recommendations.

1. The goal is to order a durable, low-maintenance fence for the front of our property (towards the street side, 20.10m length). After initial research, a metal fence/galvanized steel fence would primarily be suitable for this. Aluminum fences were also often mentioned. Do you see advantages or disadvantages of aluminum fences?

2. Do you have tips on how to buy good fences inexpensively? Ideally, the delivery should arrive by May 2021. I ask because I have occasionally overheard in conversations that there are good suppliers of fences in Poland and that it would be worthwhile, especially if, like us, you live in eastern Germany. Perhaps someone has experience with this?

I am grateful for all tips.

Coated metal fences are durable and relatively expensive, the all-inclusive package with demolition, foundation and stone base, electric sliding gate 3.5m, with wicket gate including installation cost us (16m), about 12,000€, at a German metal construction company around the corner

I have now chosen a WPC fence with aluminum posts because of the ease of maintenance. The AluPfosten are, however, not very reassuring. (Thin and unstable) First impression (hasn't been standing long): no aluminum....

Simple double rod panel fence, you can't go wrong with that. It's not necessarily expensive but durable, absolutely maintenance-free and easy to care for.

There is probably no material with a good reputation that has not been sullied by some bungler processing it poorly :-(

Yeah, double wire mesh fence in the 8/6/8 version. It will easily outlast you and can also be installed by any layperson.
