Hello everyone, In our bathroom, a wall (drywall) should be installed to fix the shower enclosure (glass) and as a partition to the toilet. Floor-to-ceiling, as it is more stable. Walk-in shower. Today on the construction site, I came across a thin "little wall." Only 8 cm wide. Apart from the fact that floor-to-ceiling means something else, isn’t that way too thin? Cladding? Niche=hole?? I am new to construction (new woman), so currently uncertain. What should a drywall, to which a shower wall is to be attached, ideally look like? Looking forward to your advice.

The wall was an additional request on our part. I passed that on to the builder... verbally...

Then live with it and consider it a lesson learned. Sorry, but anything that is not agreed upon in writing is a free pass for the developer or general contractor to build it as they see fit (or want).

No, completely sufficient. And then also solid.

Ask the contractor how that becomes a niche.

Like any drywall looks. Stud frame made of aluminum and doubly covered with drywall plasterboard. A niche is a bit more complex to integrate.

It looked like that to me at first too :)
Later, a panel will be inserted, I don't remember what it was called, so that in the end it really becomes a niche and no hole remains.
