Hello everyone,

we would like to place our washing machine elevated (about 60 cm). Unfortunately, the connection for the wastewater is only about 80 cm above the finished floor. According to the washing machine's manual, the drain should be between 60 - 100 cm. With the washing machine elevated by 60 cm, it should therefore be at least 120 cm in my understanding. How could this be solved? Opening the wall and raising the drain is not really a practical solution. There must be other possibilities, right? We would be grateful for tips.

Best regards

Just install the connection surface-mounted a bit higher – simply with an HT pipe. Insert an elbow, attach a straight pipe upwards to the wall with a clamp, and then at the top the connection for the washing machine wastewater.

If your washing machine drum is actually above the drain, it is sufficient to make a 180-degree loop with the flexible drainage hose. There are also wall brackets for this to keep it stable.

Can someone explain the problem to me? I can understand that the drain should not be too high, but what would be wrong if it is "too" low?

Then the water can drain unintentionally.

I also initially thought about just attaching a siphon and then connecting the wastewater at the top of the siphon. However, I would lose almost 10 cm in depth, and I wanted to place the cabinet as close to the wall as possible since our utility room is already quite narrow in general. I’m afraid the loss with an HT bend would be even greater, right?

So the drain is approximately at the level of the start of the washing machine drum. Creating a loop would of course be the simplest. Thanks for the tip!
