With 500 you are already doing very well
I always calculate with 400 – here on the forum there are some who think that 300 is correct.
Household insurance refers to your value IN an apartment (which also involves the house), possibly plus glass insurance (solar, induction) and building insurance.
Everything is included in your 500 with a buffer – all good!

Then we already have agreement regarding the "operating costs." Let's take a look at what savings potential there is around the house. We certainly won't hire a landscape gardener to design flower beds for us.

Holes -> tiles -> lack of long-term durability = possibly later regrets. Better to save on things that can be replaced without damage and complications anyway. These include, for example, furniture, plants (initially a lawn should suffice), a super expensive kitchen, etc.

At Aldi and Lidl, there are systems without drilling. So far, I am quite satisfied with them.
Can be found on Google under "never drill again"

OT:

I helped with a move the week before last. Newly renovated apartment.
Instead of placing the hole for the toilet paper holder in a joint, the craftsman put it 3 cm lower and at a height where you have to crawl with your head between your knees if you want to stay seated. When you see something like that, you’d rather install the bathroom accessories yourself.
Of course, there are also good craftsmen who think ahead.

We have glued most things in the apartment as well, it works. And if I have to drill, then into the joint. The argument that otherwise the tiles will fall off the wall, I don't know... I really don't need a golden toilet paper holder, the one from Aldi will do.

That is nonsense too. There is now really good industrial adhesive, and if the tiles "fall off the wall," then one should take a look at the tile installer.
