Yes. Cats love to shower. They are real water rats. Especially when you shampoo them, they cheer with joy......K.

Legionella function is a good keyword, though. I can't actually turn off the heating, can I? If the water in the buffer stands for 3 weeks... what then?

If you have a proper heating system, it would also heat the brew once a week during the vacation...

and if not, you just come back after 3 weeks and manually start the hot water production. In our case, this is done by pressing a button. Then I let the water heat up to over 60 degrees and that's it. Why run the anti-legionella program weekly if you're not even there. I think it doesn't matter whether the water in the buffer stands for 1 or several weeks, since everything dies anyway when heated to 60 degrees, no matter how long the "soup" has been standing.

If you look at it that way, the discussion is anyway obsolete because keeping that little bit of hot water at temperature for a week won't make anyone poor. They say 1-2kWh storage losses per day, which is maybe 10 cents per day.

I’m saying, laziness.
