If you no longer like an item you bought at Ikea, simply bring it back with the receipt or sales slip, and we will refund you the full purchase amount!
I want to share my experience with the OTROLIG induction cooktop. Our entire family couldn’t figure out how to operate the cooktop. At first, we thought the cooktop was broken. However, after our electrician found nothing wrong, we returned it to Ikea Brunnthal and wanted to give the cooktop a second chance. That was our mistake.
The exchange was an absolute disaster. There were only new employees at Brunnthal who didn’t know their way around yet. We spent 2 hours on the exchange. The obviously new employee told us she could only give us a voucher. That’s when we made a mistake. Since we wanted to take the same cooktop again, we accepted the voucher, which we exchanged again directly at the checkout.
Unfortunately, the behavior of the second induction cooktop was exactly the same, so after some time, we wanted to return it for good. But don’t believe that we got our money back as Ikea promises on all their advertising posters! Since we were given a voucher before, we got another voucher again. And if you read the "promises" on the posters carefully, this is even legal.
I have been an Ikea customer for a very long time and have certainly spent several thousand euros there, but with this incident, Ikea is done for me for now. Unfortunately, only almost done – we still have to redeem the voucher!
