Hello everyone!
We are currently renovating a 60-year-old single-family house (with the help of an architect/designer). Everything is being brought up to date and some things are being changed.
Our problem right now is the staircase (see photo). It consists of stone slabs, which we don't like at all or are simply old. Our architect suggested the possibility of a coating; we visited a showroom today, but it didn't really appeal to us either (no wood look, everything very clean and more reminiscent of offices or businesses). Our idea was actually a wooden staircase (meaning wooden railings and also the stairs themselves). If the stone slabs are removed, everything will need to be leveled and repaired before wooden panels can be installed on top, which I assume will cost a lot.
Does anyone have any other ideas? I look forward to any response
