Distance of air heat pump from neighbor's house, fan too close

I hope that the neighbors did not deliberately place these so that their noise is far enough away from themselves (in the sense of after me, the flood, regardless of what happens to the neighbors).

Does it even matter if the parts blow towards the wall? So does that have any effect on the efficiency of the pump?

No, the thing can’t be turned toward the garage wall because it’s placed too close to it. Besides, the base plate was poured in such a way that the system doesn’t fit sideways on it.

Yes, it does make a difference. Quite cold air comes out of the fans. You can imagine the way it works like a reversed refrigerator. The refrigerator blows out warm air, the air heat pump cold air. That’s why you can’t put bushes or plants in front of the air heat pump. They would all die.

You can also enclose heat pumps. Just google "Einhausung Wärmepumpe" and look at the search results in text and images. The proper enclosure obviously insulates the noise but does not reduce the efficiency.
