Can information about a possible [Wohnförderkonto] be obtained directly from the tax office? Because I would like to follow up on that. I trust the advisor 0. She obviously had no idea about it. But it was definitely terminated and paid out as described above.

I don't trust my advisor anymore. To be honest, I just don't know what to do. I recently increased the building savings amount to 100k on her advice and transferred 10k to the building savings account from my checking account. The increase also cost about 100€ in fees. I am currently at work and don't know the exact numbers by heart, but I think the balance in the building savings account is about 30k right now. If I were to find a house soon and decide, after consulting with anyone, not to use the Riester, that would have been quite a mistake.

Hello Winniefred,

no, you cannot inquire about the status at the tax office because it is not known there. The tax offices only receive the amounts that can be deducted in the declaration. However, you should be able to get an insight where the account is held (insurance, bank).

And with that the WFK is activated at the pension insurance. That means the withdrawn capital is now fictitiously interest-bearing at 2%, and it must be taxed upon retirement.

If you are with the LBS, call the headquarters directly. They will then refer you to the appropriate department. Most advisors only know how to sell Riester.

Back then, we had the Riester capital transferred from LBS to another BSK. That then took almost a whole year; most of the time was because our LBS advisor had no idea about the topic, or letters came asking if we really wanted to proceed, etc...

So, at the time of payment, the status of the HPA should have been listed somewhere.
