Hello everyone!

We have had several appointments with our architect by now and are unfortunately quite dissatisfied with the designs. These are now the 5th drafts and still quite far from what we imagine.

Here are the drafts for now.

I am especially bothered by the crooked rooms. According to the architect, this is necessary due to the statics of the city villa...

Angular walls do not have to be present in an urban villa and are nowadays never strictly necessary in terms of statics. Instead, there are beams and girders.

In my opinion, the complex rooms are more due to the architect starting with an angular layout on the ground floor and transferring it 1:1 to the upper floor so that load-bearing walls align exactly - this makes it structurally easier and cheaper.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you mean by "verwinkelt." Would you prefer a more open architecture? The only part that is actually "verwinkelt" is the entrance to the dining room / hallway area. If you remove the angle, the hallway feels uncomfortable and cramped. My problem is the "staircase." It makes the whole thing so rigid and somehow eerie. But I have no experience with schematic designs.

I also ask what exactly you mean by "verwinkelt"? Do you mean the recesses and projections in the walls of the rooms, e.g. living room or bedroom?

If yes: So we also built a town villa, somewhat smaller than yours (160 m²) and we don't have that! It was no problem structurally.
