I've already seen a few city villas on the internet (e.g., Maxime from Viebrockhaus) where it looks exactly like that. I think you have to think everything through carefully when building; how are the craftsmen supposed to know that it won't be liked afterwards.

Hello Andreas,

You mean covering the eaves; I also have to catch up on that first :D

That balances out roughly - 50% of the builders have the eaves boxed in; 50% just paint them or have them painted.

You can believe that in church; the topic of eaves belongs in the execution or work planning. You agreed, now you live with the result or pay for expensive changes.

The photo may be misleading - is it a pure two-story building and why did you choose such a large roof overhang?

Rhenish regards

I don't find it too bad now. The height or the distance to the cladding puts a lot into perspective. If the roof had an overhang of one meter anyway, the view from the interior would remain the same. Either make it look nice or have it changed expensively ;)

Thank you very much for the numerous responses. As expected, I will have no leverage there.

Simply annoying: the original (WERK) planning did call for a soffit cladding on the slope. Then, in good faith and full trust in the skilled trade (or full of NAIVITÄT), one lets oneself be persuaded by the carpenter over the phone to install it level, and now one has to pay 3000 EUR for the correction, although now even the company thinks it looks unusual.
In old age, I will probably also fall victim to the grandson scam;o(

Well, then we'll consider whether we want to tolerate the appearance for a few years until the first renovation/painting or correct it right away.

Have a nice day

Were you aware of what that meant? It only became clear to me on page 3 of this thread. Btw, do you also say "in Waage" here?
