Hello,
unfortunately, I have no experience with Digitalstrom yet.
The dealer network is still being developed.
Digitalstrom is still relatively new on the market.

Such "hybrid" KNX systems (e.g. Powernet), of course including Digitalstrom, have existed for years and are actually nothing new.

A real alternative to a "genuine" KNX/EIB system are definitely such hybrid solutions.
Whether for retrofitting in an old building or for a new installation.
A KNX installation is of course much more flexible.
But it all depends on what you want and how big the budget is.

I don't see it as more flexible: Doesn't a separate data line have to be laid for KNX? That means the system should be largely planned in advance for new buildings.

A solution that is built up gradually seems more flexible to me.

For KNX /EIB a separate data cable is required. Planning is of course also necessary. Since in EIB systems the sensors are networked together via data cable, one is more flexible regarding changes. Without making an intervention in the wiring.

Test system is running. All functions work. Easy to program. B U T The dead time is the cycle time of 400ms in the circuit. You press the button and have to wait until it switches. In the circuit, just barely tolerable. If you use the advantage of switching via the bus in another circuit, you then have double switching time. So almost a second (0.8s). The whole family and every visitor must be briefed. I have already witnessed scenes leading to divorce, because the wife couldn’t handle the system. Conclusion: My investment of more than €1000 for the test system is wasted. And I have lost a business idea. It would have been too good to be true. Not feasible for a new building. Possibly okay as an emergency solution.
