Hello everyone,

before I contact a structural engineer, just a quick question here:
Is it possible to determine from the attached documents whether any interior walls belong to the load-bearing walls?

All ceilings are made of reinforced concrete.

I want to remove the wall in the kitchen (between the kitchen and the dining room) and adapt the door lintels for a new underfloor heating system.

Thank you in advance.

I am not a structural engineer, this is just my opinion. But the wall from the kitchen to the dining room is not load-bearing, whereas the one from the kitchen to the living room is. It would have been easier if the thickness of the walls had been different. Invest the money in one before there is trouble.

You probably have a wonderful house there - but without a structural engineer, nothing will work; the walls could all have a load-bearing function; but it could also be that all the narrow walls have NO load-bearing function; that also depends on the load-bearing capacity of the ceilings; if there is enough iron in them, then they are self-supporting. This cannot be judged from a distance.

So wait and see what the structural engineer says about it.

we have all interior walls made of 11 cm sand-lime brick, some load-bearing and some not. Ask a structural engineer

You can never make a final sweeping generalization about it. Without a specialist, I would never approach it. Even thin walls can very well be load-bearing.

Thank you very much for the helpful answers. I will sit down with a structural engineer.
