Hi,
I have been thinking for years about how to design my house problem area.
I have a long narrow strip facing the public path that I would like to plant. The strip is about 75 cm wide and 10.5 meters long. The strip is located on the south side and gets full sun. Two gardens away, the neighbor has cut down all the tall and old trees, which means for us that since this year the house is completely in the sun. We definitely want some protection so that the ground does not heat up excessively and maybe something that will protect our facade from the full sun in the future, at least at the bottom.
Trees are probably not an option due to the limited space.
I like it when the plants are useful for wildlife all year round.
The fence must stay because otherwise it becomes a dog toilet. Even now with the stones. The privacy screen on the fence is more of a splash guard, as the whole thing is on an unpaved path, which is actually a dead end but apparently everyone has a key to lower the bollards and the footpath is often used, and not slowly. A disaster when it rains.
So, bring on the suggestions.
