Decentralized ventilation system that is hardly visible on the exterior facade

That could be something ...

But then definitely also the stone front garden in Asia style ... ;)

I am also thinking of a decentralized system. For us, a central ventilation system is definitely out of the question. What do you think of the corner zero? Their Xenon fans are of course high tech, but could there possibly be serious problems with insulation and plaster if you install them in the window reveal?

Where does this fundamental rejection of the central ventilation system come from, which apparently is held by quite a few builders? I would really be interested in the objective arguments.

I would be interested in that too. I know that some general contractors shy away from it because it is somewhat more complex during the construction phase, especially in terms of planning. It is also a bit more expensive, which makes discount providers look worse when it comes to price comparison. Fortunately, the myth of dirty pipes is now only rarely heard, a thing of the past..

Objectively, I know of no disadvantage or arguments against it.

Apart from the price argument, I feel the same way, that I know of no disadvantages. Our system has been running completely trouble-free and absolutely noiseless since 10/2018. Only in the technical room itself can you hear the controlled residential ventilation (and if you prick your ears in the guest WC, which is located directly above the technical room and has the shortest distance to the controlled residential ventilation, then you can at most very quietly hear that a device is running in the technical room.) Visually, the central solution is unbeatable anyway.
