Hi everyone,

we have now been operating 5 decentralized fans from the company Vario-Vent for almost 14 months. Now it is also time to give some feedback.

First of all: If you are about to make a purchase, definitely get the Silent series. They are really very quiet.

More to follow...

What I can say without any pain is that the operation is really very good. Although as an intensive user of such things I still see room for improvement, otherwise it is very good. The fans can be controlled via web interface. Either over the Internet, provided the spot is on the network (via WLAN), or you always log in via smartphone, PC, or whatever, to the WLAN network of the spot. Then you can also control it via the corresponding portal.

What is really not good is that one of the fans which extracts the exhaust air from the bathroom is broken for the umpteenth time. Unfortunately, it always takes 3 to 4 weeks until the issue is resolved. They apparently don't handle moisture very well.. :(

I am also not entirely convinced about the heat recovery efficiency. I need to measure it myself. Currently, I don't trust the sensors.

Hello Mauhin. We have had 6 Vario-vent units in operation since December 2016. The following: For 4 of them, the sensors have been defective for 3 months, for one (the 5th) the entire electronics are defective. Additionally, the WLAN was defective in one unit, and furthermore, the hotspot was already defective. Massive moisture also destroyed the drywall in the interior of 2 units. The filters were always cleaned in a timely manner. The installer has now installed the Vario-vent units a bit more slanted, i.e. "squeezed" with more external slope in the mounting pipe; now it seems as if the condensate water sometimes drains outward. Inside, attempts have already been made by the manufacturer and the installer to seal with adhesive tape, but this tape is now coming off. Our apartment building is a block consisting of 10 apartments and EVERY apartment has problems. The manufacturer is extremely "unprofessional," appointments are promised and canceled, callbacks one can only dream of... The last work by the manufacturer was shutting off the guest WC due to an electronics defect with the comment "It's just a guest WC anyway," and "We will call you next week for a new appointment," that was 5 weeks ago!! Now an expert is coming next week because I refused to let the devices be manipulated further before clarifying what the cause of this almost complete failure is. Evidence in the form of photos and emails are of course available, a story of suffering for more than 16 months! Regards: René

At my home the same issue. Dropping connections and defective sensors. In the meantime, all six fans have already been replaced. The warranty has now expired. I just received another email: The temperature sensor in my bedroom is defective... Fans are absolutely not recommended and the company ZSA or their customer service are unwilling to fix the existing problems.

Hello "Hechflo". Things are better for us now, the company ZSA has now installed a kind of air deflection in 2 devices with pipe connections. It is a foam part that prevents the intake air from coming into contact with the lid of the inner cover. Thus, this air bridge is eliminated and effectively significantly less condensate has formed. This winter, unfortunately, there were still condensate problems with 3 apartment owners as well as a hotspot defect in 2 others. In addition, one already replaced temperature sensor is defective again in my case. I have now programmed the devices to run only for a few hours, as the humidity in the apartment is (only) about 40 - 45%. When measuring with a thermal imaging camera, the blown-in outside air is still too cold at low temperatures during continuous operation. For now, the way it works is sufficient for me. It would be great if it were possible to set the fans of the bathroom and the guest toilet to, for example, level 3 for a short time via a permanently installed button when needed, just as a toilet ventilation should work. Then there would be no need to go the long way via the app or the spot. So you have to keep these fans running either out of necessity or for simplicity.
