Hello,

our house is now exactly 2 years old. In recent months, a crack has appeared on every corner of the house, from the very top to the very bottom. The cracks are all four on the gable sides, each about 40 cm away from the corner of the house. They do not run in a single crack but are rather frayed.

The wall structure is 30cm Ytong, with plaster on top.

Now my questions:

1. Is this normal, i.e. acceptable, or a defect?

2. Are these plaster cracks or has more broken here?

3. Why does this crack occur almost identically on all 4 corners?

It is a stress crack that was completely ruled out by us. Nevertheless, the developer repaired it and made it worse.

Looks OK to me. What does your construction partner say?

I will leave him alone as long as the majority here does not believe that there is a defect.

Why? Asking is legitimate. Our BT also passed this off to the plasterers. But again, you always see repairs. The solution would be to plaster everything completely. No one does that. Have some fun and walk through a new development area. Cracks = houses from the developer, built quickly and plastered so that money flows due to completion. No cracks = houses given time with plastering so that the house can settle first. My father said that in the past people waited 2-3 years before plastering.

That's exactly why I don't want to do anything if it is not a serious defect.

So far, they are hardly visible.

But yes, of course you are right, our house was plastered immediately after the shell construction. Like almost everyone nowadays.
