Good evening everyone,
we are once again scratching our heads over a topic and I would like to have your opinion on it. It is about the following: Our staircase will be covered with tiles, both the tread and the riser. At the edges, we need/want a tile profile. We are unsure which one to choose.
The options are:
Schlüter Jolly: This is the same one we will use in the bathroom. It is the most discreet solution. Here we can either take a tone matching the tile, but we are afraid it will get scratched (aluminum structured coated). Or classic stainless steel.

Extra stair profile from Schlüter (TREP-E or similar, installed flush with the tile edge, not protruding):

+ Stair steps are better visible = lower risk of tripping
+ Protection against slipping
- Does it look too much like an office?

What would you choose? Do you have pictures of your stairs showing how you solved it?

So no worries. The company Schlüter is already the top dog! The last version is good. And do visitors come to you who say it looks like an office? The tiler can advise on that. Function comes before aesthetics!

Well, I don't know. In the house on a "Privattreppe" I consider the Schlüter TREP-E to be oversized and also not exactly easy to clean quickly.

I would choose the simple version in stainless steel.

You're not supposed to run down the stairs uncontrollably wearing socks anyway.

That is also my concern, that it is too much in the private area. I have never seen something like that at someone's home before. Above all, our children's rooms are on the ground floor, so children do not run up and down the stairs several times a day.
