If it is ensured that the wall does not permanently draw moisture from the back, I would apply a layer with a plastic-reinforced filler, e.g., "gima xxl," and texture it with a five-tooth trowel. Then apply base plaster with mesh over it. The whole thing is then painted with suitable facade paint. You can then connect it directly to the house. It looks as if it would be necessary, but if the wall draws moisture from behind, it will chip off sooner or later. Then only battens and cladding help to ensure ventilation behind.
