Costs for landscapers, paving, driveway, etc.

Hello everyone, since no BU has so far carried out the paving etc. on their own, I would have to commission a gardener separately for this. I am now missing a value that I can calculate with. Can someone roughly estimate what 1 sqm of paving without pavers costs?

you can't say that. You can put a Mercedes in the garden or a Trabant.

No one can really answer this for you here because there is a lot of variety in paving. As a rough value, concrete paving might be used; here, you have to - through the construction unit - expect costs of €90.00/sqm; at least in the Rhineland.

I can roughly give you a ballpark figure of what such an offer looks like when you have a garden landscaper prepare a quote for you.

- Set curbs around the house (11 x 16m), approx. 10 cm frost protection and then apply an optically covering decorative gravel layer.

- Split 120 sqm driveway, includes: removing and hauling away approx. 20 cm of soil, applying and compacting 20 cm frost protection layer, applying and leveling 10 cm of gravel. In addition, set 24 m edge curb on one property boundary.

- Create 300 sqm garden, includes: filling with topsoil, sowing grass.

- Create 25 sqm terrace, includes: making approx. 15 cm substructure from frost protection, laying sandstone-look slabs.

= Bargain just over 22,000 EUR.

I think you typed one zero too many!

Don't you have an acquaintance who can do this work for you? Otherwise, ask around in the neighborhood how and where they prepared their property.

@ansgarm74: There's some truth to that, but speer deliberately left out the material.

At first, I also thought there was one zero too many.

I mean, it's not that I was unrealistic; I was expecting something in the five-figure range, but that was really something else.

Just the split driveway including car parking spaces would have already come to over 10K. The material value here (I know the purchase prices) isn't even close to a grand.

But slowly I'm getting to the point where it becomes realistic. I have obtained various quotes that were much more realistic.
Normally, I could do all this myself or relatively cheaply, but there are two reasons against it:

a) If I have one or two employees from my company who are perfectly capable of doing it with rental equipment and I buy and deliver the materials myself cheaply (I also have that option), it may seem a lot cheaper at first glance, but only at first glance. Then I miss the people in the company where they could be doing much more profitable work.

b) The time factor. I am very impatient after all and hate having to live on a "construction site."
The move-in is planned for 4/4 and I want everything around the front of the house to be more or less fitting by then. Sure, the garden and terrace can be a lower priority for me at first, but the driveway etc. should really be right.
