I can't emphasize this enough either: Prefabricated construction was a bit more expensive 10 years ago, but easier to build energy-efficiently. For a few years now, one must/wants to meet the former KFW55 energy efficiency standard, where prefabricated construction performs better because massive construction requires more complex insulation. Although prefabricated construction may be made of wood, I wouldn't call it panel construction. Wood construction is where you see the wood, whether log houses or clad...

In prefabricated construction with wooden frame panels, the wood content is even smaller than the meat content in sausage; solid wood builders are a minority among the "prefabricated house manufacturers," even when referring only to the wood faction. If the providers of the brick wall panel construction used bricks filled with wood fibers, the wood content there could almost catch up. ... whereby the visible wood there should usually be referred to as "veneer."

I have also learned that the term "wooden house" is often used incorrectly. Most prefabricated houses consist of wooden slats and panels, with insulation filling in between. The insulation is made of plastic, mineral wool, wood fiber, or cellulose, depending on the manufacturer. A pure wooden house with good insulation would probably have solid wood fiber boards on the outside of the wall – which are also good for summer heat protection – and blown-in wood fibers on the inside. A few companies offer this, but not the majority. A real wooden house, as it is commonly imagined, that is made of solid wood, is very rare and probably for good reason, as it is expensive and simply has many disadvantages.

and then there is the combination of solid wood (or BSH) in e.g. 10cm + blown-in insulation + wood fiber insulation panels on the outside. We have this rare combination and have been very satisfied after almost 2 years, both in winter and in summer 8-)

Expensive yes, the other significant good reason is that it was "monolithically" phased out of the market by the Energy Saving Ordinance. By the way, I could even imagine that the OP - who should also show himself again in his thread from time to time - does not mean such a thing with the stone prefabricated house either, but rather a "stone on stone" site-built "turnkey" (which is also an "often incorrectly used" term ;-) house (stone "prefab" houses were never of market-defining relevance within the "prefab" house spectrum).

Hello, I haven’t been at the PC these past days. Thank you very much for your feedback so far. By stone prefab houses, I indeed referred to a stone on stone built turnkey house as offered for example by Viebrockhaus. I was also not aware of all the possible differences regarding the various timber construction variants. We will definitely deal with the topic more intensively again and obtain further offers.
